Leadership

Yuan Li, Ph.D. Founder, President

Yuan Li has extensive experience in managing and leading engineer teams. He led the communications system team in TI and successfully developed the WCDMA modem since 2004. He has in-depth knowledge in WCDMA system and has over 9 year of experience on system design and firmware development. He was with TI from 2004 to 2008 responsible for system engineering. Yuan Li also served as chair of patent committee for wireless communication division. Before that he worked at Zyray wireless ( acquired by Broadcom) and Innovics Wireless and responsible for algorithm design, firmware development, ASIC verification, protocol stack integration and IOT tests for WCDMA mobile chipsets. Yuan Li holds a Ph.D. degree from Kyoto University, Japan and BS degree from Tsinghua University, China.

Tao Zhang, Founder

Dr Tao Zhang has over 12 years of experience in the development of wireless communication systems. He led the system design and verification of WCDMA decoder chain at Texas Instruments, was also responsible for the system design of frequency and clock subsystem for TI DRPU (digital radio processor for UMTS) chip. Prior to TI, he was responsible for firmware design for ISDB-T receiver on VLIW DSP at Olympus (USA). Tao also worked for OKI techno centre (Singapore) and National Semiconductor for the research and development of UMTS WCDMA modem chipset. He earned Ph.D and MS degrees from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications and BS degree from Tsinghua University. He is a senior member of IEEE and holds 5 patents granted in multiple countries.

Jianbin Zhu, Founder

Jianbin has extensive mobile chipset system and hardware design experience. He jointed Texas Instruments ASIC group in 2001; while in TI, he participated in multiple versions of WCDMA/HSDPA baseband ASIC design and led the design and verification of UMTS baseband chipset; later on, he moved to the system engineering team and led the HSDPA receiver chain design and verification. He has multiple WCDMA/HSDPA designs that are used by many cell phone makers. He started WCDMA system design since 1998 and held multiple management and engineering positions in Yozan and BD&C. Jianbin earned BS from Southeast university and MS from Beijing University of Technology.

Julien Nicolas, CTO

Dr Julien Nicolas has over 15 years of industry experience in communication systems. He has held progressive positions at Qualcomm, Solana Technology, Verance, Sorrento Telecom, Kyocera, and Texas Instruments. He has been involved in the development of a number of new technologies, including HDTV (MIT), Globalstar (Qualcomm), digital watermarking (Solana Technology). As V.P. of Engineering at Sorrento Telecom, he led the development of an IS2000 CDMA ASIC. As chief engineer and member of the CTO office at Texas Instruments, he was involved in the architecture definition and simulation of an LTE modem, as well as in the development of strategies for multimode modems. Dr. Julien Nicolas holds a MS and PhD from MIT and an Engineer's Degree from Ecole Centrale de Paris, France.
